For American citizens, you can use Electronic visa (E-visa) or Visa On Arrival to enter Vietnam.

E-visa is accepted through 8 international airports, 16 border gates and 9 sea ports.

Visa On Arrival is accepted through 6 international airports.

Therefore, there are 3 main ways to enter Vietnam that you can consider to choose the most suitable one for your plan.

In order to enter Vietnam and visit Mekong Delta, there are 3 common ways:

In order to come to Mekong Delta conveniently, many people choose Tan Son Nhat airport (Ho Chi Minh city) as the first destination. This is a big airport in Vietnam, so there are many direct flights from many countries such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Dubai, Southeast Asian countries, etc.

From here, you can easily take a bus to every province in Mekong Delta within only a few hours.

At Tan Son Nhat airport, Visa On Arrival and E-visa are both accepted.
