Vietnam Visa Exemption Policy For France, Germany and Spain Has Been Officially Suspended

The Vietnamese government has recently decided to suspend visa exemption programs for several European countries, including France, Germany and Spain. Citizens holding French, German and Spanish passports must apply for a visa to enter Vietnam, effective March 10, 2020.

Dealing with the rapidly spreading epidemic in Europe, the Vietnamese government held an emergency meeting on the afternoon of March 9, 2020 and approved a decision: Suspending unilateral visa exemption for 8 European countries, including UK, France, Germany, Spain, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden. Thus, after Korea and Italy, the eight countries mentioned above are the next countries which are canceled the 15-day visa exemption policy upon entry to Vietnam.

Thus, from 10/3/2020, citizens of France, Germany and Spain must apply for a visa to enter Vietnam.

However, applying for Vietnam visa for citizens holding French, German and Spanish passports is not complicated. Vietnam Visa can now be applied online via the link https://www.vietnamimmigration.com/apply-vietnam-visa/. All you need to do is fill in the online visa application form, after processing time (2 working days for normal cases, and faster for urgent cases), visa results will be sent to your email. You only need to print the visa and bring it with you when you enter Vietnam.

Similarly, citizens from countries like the UK, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden can enter Vietnam if they have a visa before coming to Vietnam. Visa online also applies to these cases.
