Vietnam visa requirement for Burmese

We heard that Myanmar passport holders are not need visa for Vietnam, is it correctly? I want to know this because we will visit Vietnam for this summer.

We are happy to inform that the visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders signed between Vietnam and Myanmar will take effect on Oct.26 2013, according to an announcement released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that the Vietnam and Burma governments had signed an agreement that would also allow Vietnam passport holders to visit Burma without a visa, so long as the trip was less than 15 days, according to the Vietnam-based Tuoi Tre newspaper.

1. Direct application to the Vietnam visa at a Vietnam embassy/consulate in Burma
Up to now there is no Vietnam embassy/consulate in Burmahence applicants for the Vietnam visa for Burmese should locate the nearest Vietnam embassy from neighboring countries to contact.
Alternatively, they can choose to forward their visa applications by post, which is a convenient and recommended option. Visa by post option does not require one to present his or herself in person at the embassy. However, one should first confirm with the Vietnam embassy to find out if the option is offered since visa application procedures vary across embassies.
If both options above still don’t seem convenient to a visa applicant there is the online way to acquiring the Vietnam visa with help of the letter of approval.
