If you are an India passport holder and want to enter Vietnam, you need to apply for valid visas to get the approval to enter Vietnam for any purpose. This article is going to show you how to apply Vietnam Visa.

First of all, your passport needs to meet these 2 requirements:

• Indian Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival date.
• Passport has 2 blank pages for visa stamp.

Secondly, you need to choose what kind of Visa you want to grant. For Indian passport holders, you can apply for a visa to Vietnam in 3 different ways:

1. Visa at Embassy:

Apply for a Vietnam visa in person at the nearest embassy of Vietnam in India or by mail to the embassy.

Requirements for Vietnam visa application at the embassy in India:

• Original passport meet the above requirements.
• Download and complete application form that be updated on the website of the embassy. You will have to print out the form, sign on it and affix with 01 passport-sized photo. The application for loose-leaf visa needs 2 photos.
• Visa fees: should be paid in cash for the in-person application. If applying by post, the fees must be in the form of MONEY ORDER, or CERTIFIED CHECK payable to “EMBASSY OF VIETNAM.” Applicants applying together may submit combined payment in one money order or one check. Visa fees will depend on the type of visa for which you are applying.
• A prepaid return envelops: must be enclosed when you request the passport with visa to be returned to your door.

The visa procedure will take around five days to process.

The advantages of applying Vietnam’s visa at Embassy is that this type of visa is good to use at airport and sea/land ports and you don’t have to wait at the port of entry

But the Visa fees are high and non-refundable in case of refusal. Also, the Processing time is slow.

2. Apply for a visa on arrival to Vietnam

The advantages of making Visa On Arrival are that it is easy to apply online anywhere, anytime. The visa fees are lower compare with Visa at Embassy. The processing time is short and the support service is available 24/7.

However, Visa On Arrival is available for person traveling to Vietnam by air only. Using Visa On Arrival, you have to wait at the airport longer than other Visa (It depends on the number of guests arriving so the time is not fixed – about 20 – 30 minutes).

To apply Visa On Arrival, you should apply online through our website or contact your travel agent in Vietnam to ask for a visa approval letter from Vietnam Immigration Department.

Usually, you don’t have to prepare any documents for apply Visa On Arrival. All information you need to fill in is the basic personal information. For example: your full name, gender, date of birth, nationality, etc. The applicants do not need to submit passport scans or photo like e-Visa.

In some case, you need to upload additional information about your trip such as your hotel booking confirmation, your round-trip air ticket confirmation, passport copy.

3. Apply for E visa

Applicants will get their visas via email after they provide the required information on website, upload a recent passport photo (recommended dimensions: 600 x 400 px), and make the payment using credit or debit card. After you successful apply the e-visa, you will receive the link to download the e-visa. You also can get the link via e-mail.

You can enter Vietnam using E-visa via 8 International airports of Vietnam, 16 Border land-crossings and 9 Sea Ports.

Normally, it will take 2 working days to process e-visa.

Required documents:

• A passport that we mentioned at above. If you have 2 regions, please specify your country according to the particular travel document/passport which you intend to use in your travel to Vietnam.
• A recently taken photo
• A scanned copy of your passport

E-visa will cost 40USD/person if you are tourist and 55USD/person if you are businessman.
