Vietnam Reopens Tourist Visas for Korean Tourists from November 2021

Vietnamese government has just approved the policy of reopening Vietnam’s tourism industry after nearly 2 years of closure. South Korea is one of the key markets and Vietnamese government decided to re-operate the tourist route from Korea to Vietnam from November 2021.

Korean nationals or foreign tourists living in Korea can buy air tickets, apply for visas and enter Vietnam for tourism purpose from the end of November 2021. Entry conditions are determined as follows:

• Korean tourists must have a passport valid for more than 6 months
• Korean tourists must have a return air ticket to Vietnam
• Korean tourists must have a valid tourist visa provided by Vietnam travel agency or Vietnam Immigration Department.
• Korean tourists must have a full 2 doses Covid-19 vaccine certificate approved from Vietnam
• Korean travelers must have negative Covid-19 test for 72 hours before flying by RT-PCR method

After entry, Korean tourists will be transported to a quarantine hotel and quarantined for 7 days at the hotel. During this time, Korean tourists are served 3 meals a day, tested for Covid as prescribed, and can freely enjoy in the hotel’s areas.

At the end of the quarantine period, Korean tourists can sign up for a package tour of a travel company or freely explore Vietnam depending on the epidemic situation at that time. Korean tourists can also visit relatives, friends and family in Vietnam.

The validity period of Vietnam tourist visa for Koreans in this case is 90 days, and can be extended depending on the needs of visitors.
