Current time in Vietnam:
Electronic Visa

Vietnam now offers 3-month multiple-entry visas for citizens of the Netherlands in August 2023

A new electronic visa regime for Dutch nationals has just been approved by the Vietnamese government. As a result, starting in August 2023, citizens of the Netherlands are able to apply for a 3-month multiple-entry visa to Vietnam online.

1/ Dutch citizens will be able to obtain an electronic visa good for three months

In 2017, a trial of the Vietnam e-visa program was conducted. At the time, just one sort of e-visa—a single entry document with a 30-day maximum validity period—could be requested by Dutch nationals. The Vietnamese government reopened the tourism sector and drew in foreign tourists after Covid-19 had a significant negative impact on the sector. Tourists from the Netherlands in particular and visitors from other countries generally still have difficulties with visas.

Following the August 2023 National Assembly session, the Vietnamese government established a new visa policy for Dutch nationals. The 90-day validity of the Vietnam e-visa was increased from 30 days, and repeated entries are permitted. In the campaign to bring Dutch tourists back to Vietnam, this represents a new milestone.

2/ Procedures for applying 3-month multiple-entry Vietnam E-visa for Dutch citizens 2023

It is simple to apply online for Vietnam’s 3-month multiple-entry E-visa. In order to apply for a visa online, Dutch visitors must prepare the following two soft files:

  • Passport information page: Scan or photograph it
  • Photograph: Snap a picture of the applicant for the visa using a digital camera.

Dutch visitors can begin applying for a 3-month multiple entry visa to Vietnam online once they have all the necessary documents ready:

The online address to use to apply for a Vietnam visa for Dutch nationals is https://www.vietnamimmigration.com/apply-vietnam-visa/

Citizens of the Netherlands then complete the online form by following the website’s instructions. Basic personal information, details on the type of visa, entry and exit dates, as well as entry and exit points, are all included in the list of requested details. The best sort of visa to select is an electronic visa that allows multiple entries and has a three-month validity period.

Continue to upload your passport and photo as directed after that, and be sure to include your email address so you may be notified when your visa application has been approved.

Once tourists from the Netherlands have finished the online payment phase, the visa application process will be finished online.

3/ How long does it take for Dutch nationals to submit an application for a three-month electronic visa to enter Vietnam many times?

Normally, it takes 3 to 5 working days to process each application for a Vietnam visa with a 3-month validity period and multiple entries. There are no working days on Saturdays, Sundays, or Vietnamese public holidays. The anticipated date of visa outcomes can therefore be calculated by Dutch nationals.

Dutch travelers should apply for a visa online at least two weeks prior to their trip in order to fully prepare and to prevent last-minute issues. Dutch nationals may pay an additional urgent cost to obtain a 3-month multiple visa faster in circumstances where entry into Vietnam is required immediately.

Tourists from the Netherlands who previously registered on the online form will receive the E-visa through email after it has been authorized. Check the details on the visa carefully, print a paper copy, and save a soft copy on your phone before traveling with Dutch nationals. Prior to permitting Dutch nationals admission into Vietnam, the immigration officer will examine their electronic visa and passport.

Consequently, the new visa policy implemented by the Vietnamese government currently greatly benefits Dutch travelers. Dutch nationals now have access to the 3-month multiple-entry E-visa, which entails a relaxation of entrance requirements and a facilitation of visa-free, extended stays in Vietnam for Dutch tourists.
