Current time in Vietnam:
Electronic Visa

Vietnam gives Russian citizens an e-visa multiple times of three months from August 2023

The Vietnamese government just made a change to how Russian people can get electronic visas. So, starting in August 2023, Russian citizens will be able to use the e-visa system to apply for a 3-month visa that allows them to enter and leave Vietnam multiple times.

1/ A new approach to Vietnam E-visa for Russian citizens with repeated entries for 3 months, starting in August 2023

In 2017, Vietnam e-visa was tried out for the first time. At that time, Russian citizens could only apply for one type of e-visa: a single-entry visa that was good for up to 30 days and could only be used once. After Covid-19 did a lot of damage to the tourism business, the Vietnamese government reopened it and brought in tourists from other countries. Still, getting a visa is still a problem for Russian tourists and tourists from other countries in general.

After a meeting of the National Assembly in August 2023, the Vietnamese government decided on a new visa policy for people from Russia. The length of an e-visa for Vietnam was changed from 30 days to 90 days, and it can be used more than once. This is a new step that Vietnam is taking to get Russian tourists to come back.

2/ How to apply for a 3-month multiple-entry visa E-visa to Vietnam for Russians in 2023

The Vietnam 3-month multiple-entry E-visa is easy to apply for online once it has been opened. Russian tourists who want to get a visa online need to have the following two soft files ready:

  • Passports: Scan or take a picture of the information page of the passport
  • picture: Take a digital picture of the person who wants to get a visa. They should not be wearing glasses.

Russian tourists can apply online for a 3-month multiple-entry visa to Vietnam once they have all the necessary documents:

To apply for a Vietnam visa, Russian citizens must first go to https://www.vietnamimmigration.com/apply-vietnam-visa/ . This is the link for Russian citizens.

Then, Russians go to the website, read the directions, and fill out the online form. The information that is being asked for includes general information about the person, the type of visa, the date of entry, the date of exit, the place of entry, and the place of exit. Note that the right kind of visa is an electronic visa that is good for 3 months and lets you enter and leave the country more than once.

After that, keep following the directions to upload your photo and passport, and give an email address to get the visa result.

When Russian tourists finish the online payment step, the process of getting a visa online will be over.

3/ How long does it take for a Russian person to get an e-visa for three months so they can go to Vietnam more than once?

Each application for a 3-month multiple entry visa to Vietnam usually takes between 3 and 5 business days to process. The Vietnamese do not count Saturdays, Sundays, or national holidays as working days. From there, Russian people can figure out when they can expect to get their visas.

Russian tourists who want to go to Vietnam should apply for a visa online at least two weeks before their trip. This will help them avoid any problems that might come up. Russian people can pay an extra fee to get their visa results faster if they need a 3-month multiple-entry visa to get into Vietnam quickly.

After the E-visa is accepted, it will be sent to the Russian tourist’s email address that they gave on the online form. Russian travelers should check the information on their visas carefully, print out a copy, and save a digital copy on their phones. Before letting Russian citizens into Vietnam, the immigration worker will check their electronic visa and passport.

In the end, Russian tourists now have a lot to gain from the new visa policy that the Vietnamese government has put in place. The 3-month multi-entry E-visa is now available to Russian people. This makes it easier for Russian tourists to get visas and stay in Vietnam for a long time.
