Options of Visas for Estonians to Vietnam in 2025: Embassy Visa, Vietnam Electronic Visa, and Visa On Arrival

How many different options are there for an Estonian to apply for a visa to Vietnam? We’ll explain how to get a visa for Vietnam in three different ways here: in person at the embassy, online (with an e-visa), and at the airport (with a visa on arrival). As a bonus, we get a glimpse at the passport and visa requirements for Estonians traveling to Vietnam.

1/ Estonian citizens need a visa to enter Vietnam in 2025

Before proceeding, check to see if Estonian citizens require a visa to enter Vietnam.

As far as we are aware, the Estonian passport is not eligible for a visa-free entry into Vietnam. Those from Estonia planning a trip to Vietnam will need to apply for a visa and meet the following requirements:

  • A valid passport for an additional six months beyond the intended period of stay is required of all Estonian visitors.
  • Your passport needs at least two unused pages so that you can get your visa stamped and your entry stamp.

A visa is not necessary for citizens of Estonia to pass through a Vietnamese international airport for the sole purpose of connecting to another flight.

Following is a list of what Estonian citizens need to know to enter Vietnam.

All other entry restrictions related to preventing the spread of the Covidae virus have been lifted as of May 2022. No longer are Covid-19 certificate-related documents required of Estonian passport holders. The people of Estonia will not be required to undergo quarantine or present proof of vaccination or negative test results. They need only present their genuine passports and legitimate visas.

2/ The Roadmap to a Vietnam Visa in 2025 for Residents of Estonia

In order to travel to Vietnam, Estonian passport holders need to be aware of the three available visa application methods: obtaining a visa at the embassy, applying for a visa upon arrival, or applying for an electronic visa.

2.1/ Procedures for Estonians seeking a Vietnam visa from the embassy 2025

If you need a visa to enter Vietnam, you can only get one from the Vietnamese Embassy in your country of residence. Those Estonians who happen to work or live close enough to the Vietnamese embassy can submit their visa applications in person.

An official Vietnam visa can be used to cross any border into the country, whether by land, air, or sea.

In order to obtain a Vietnam visa from the Vietnamese embassy, you should allow the following amount of time: Normal processing times are between seven and ten business days. The embassy should be contacted to inquire about the availability of expedited visa services. If that’s the case, you’ll have to pay the supplementary charge.

The cost of obtaining a visa from the embassy can fluctuate depending on a number of variables, such as the length of time you plan to stay, the number of times you plan to enter the country, and the type of visa you are applying for. If you need updated information on visa costs, don’t hesitate to inquire with the Embassy’s staff.

2.2/ Estonians can get a Vietnam visa on arrival by following these steps in 2025.

When you arrive at Vietnam’s airport, immigration officials will stamp your passport and issue you a visa. Visas for Vietnam are available only upon arrival, so please plan accordingly.

When arriving in Vietnam, visitors can obtain a visa upon arrival at any international airport. Visas on arrival are currently available for Estonian nationals at the following Vietnamese airports: Noi Bai Airport (Ha Noi), Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Da Nang Airport (Da Nang City), Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong City), Cam Ranh Airport (Nha Trang City), Phu Quoc Airport (Phu Quoc Island), and Lien Khuong Airport (Ha Tien Province) (Da Lat city)
